LankaWeb – Sri Lanka records 19 new COVID deaths in highest single-day toll

Posted on May 7th, 2021 Courtesy Adaderana Sri Lanka on Friday (May 07) registered 19 more victims of COVID-19, marking the highest number of deaths recorded in a single day. The latest victims have moved the country’s death toll to 764, the, the Department of Government Information stated. According to official data, 06 of the victims were in their sixties while another 06 were in seventies. Three others were aged over 80 years. Meanwhile, the remaining four had been in their forties and fifties, reports revealed. Further, COVID pneumonia has been identified as one of the causes of death of 16 victims.
