UNION COUNTY, NJ A day after a 45-year-old restaurant owner was found dead in a rental car with a gunshot to his head, the mother of the man s children and her sister were found dead inside his restaurant near the Hillside/Newark border.
An autopsy conducted Wednesday by the Union County Medical Examiner s Office ruled their manner of death a homicide.

UNION COUNTY – The death of a 45-year-old Hillside man in Union Township is believed to be connected to the deaths of the mother of his children and her sister in Hillside, according to the Union County Prosecutor s Office.
Early Monday morning Union Township police noticed a vehicle parked in the rear lot of an Enterprise Rent-A-Car facility in the 1700 block of Morris Avenue in Union Township.
Officers discovered the body of Akanni A. Martin of Hillside inside the car and a weapon near his body, officials said. Martin had a gunshot wound to the head and foul play is not suspected, according to acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo.
