If you love art, you don’t have to go very far to see it if you’re living in Dubai. From gorgeous street art all over the city to amazing art exhibitions, there’s plenty to see to get your culture fill.

Renowned American skateboarder-turned-artist Shepard Fairey will open his first Middle East show on Monday at Dubai s Opera Gallery.
Entitled Future Mosaic, the exhibition features 150 new and famous works by Fairey done on paper, canvas, wood and metal.

his arrival, Fairey shared his excitement at visiting the region for the first time.
“Travelling is something that I really love to do. For me, it s one of the most important facets of me, feeling like I am global citizen rather than an ignorant American,” he said.

For an artist as renowned for politically-charged works as Shepard Fairey, the conservative United Arab Emirates might seem like an unlikely place for a new gallery show.
And yet the country s glitziest city, Dubai, is precisely where the US contemporary artist best known for the iconic Obama Hope poster is marking his first foray into the Middle East.
Fairey s first show in the region, Future Mosaic, opens on March 15 at Dubai s Opera Gallery, and features 150 works both newer pieces as well as iconic images and motifs from the artist s greater oeuvre.
To mark the occasion, the artist has also painted a mural in D3, Dubai s design district.
