Prince Philip: Enfield Council to host online proclamation event

Enfield Council has organised an online proclamation event in memory of Prince Philip ahead of his funeral. At 10.45am today (Saturday) the council will be paying a virtual tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh, with residents welcome to join Cllr Sabri Ozaydin, Mayor of Enfield, for the live proclamation event that will be broadcast on MS Teams.   The council s three political party group leaders will each pay tribute on behalf of their respective groups and a one-minute silence will be held as a mark of respect at 11am. Enfield councillors will be in attendance and The Police Borough Commander, Fire Service Borough Commander and Ann Cable, Deputy Lieutenant have been invited.

Tributes to Prince Philip from New Forest leaders

His death was announced last Friday. New Forest District Council chairman, Councillor Allan Glass gave a speech followed by a two minute silence in honour of The Duke of Edinburgh during a meeting of the council on Monday. He said: “Our district has great pride in its royal associations, with a strong history of connections to the monarchy. The district has had the privilege of welcoming His Royal Highness on many visits over the years, which we now remember with warmth and fondness.” Cllr Glass laid flowers alongside the Deputy Lieutenant for Hampshire, Hallam Mills during a private ceremony at Appletree Court.

Milestones Hospital is owned by the Atarrah Project whose majority shareholder is Henry Cator. - Credit: Archant A mental health hospital owned by a millionaire Norfolk landowner will leave the taxpayer to pick up the tab for £125,000 owing to nursing staff - but pay £200,000 back to a family member.   Milestones Hospital in Catfield made 47 staff redundant when it closed its doors in February, after health inspectors barred it from taking new patients amid a string of safety concerns.  It has now gone into liquidation, owing just under £2.1m to 56 creditors including employees, NHS trusts, healthcare and nursing firms, and the taxman.
