“Our hospitals are still under immense pressure,” Ford said.
“We just can’t open up too quickly.
“We must keep doing what we’re doing and what’s working.
“My goal is to have the most normal July and August possible.”

Public health and hospital officials have declared another outbreak of COVID-19 in Belleville General Hospital – this time in the intensive care unit.
A Quinte Health Care spokesperson noted, however, that the two infected patients were no longer in the unit and the infected staff member has recovered from the virus.

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health announced the outbreak late Tuesday via social media and the health unit’s COVID-19 dashboard webpage.
The outbreak in the unit involved three cases, the health unit reported.

Ontario Health Minister Provides Update on Vaccine Distribution – May 5, 2021
In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Ontario Health Minister and Deputy Premier Christine Elliott provides an update on the province’s COVID-19 vaccination plan. She is joined by Ontario Solicitor General Sylvia Jones. The update comes as the province ramped up its rollout strategy this week and expanded vaccine eligibility for residents ages 18 and older in over 100 hotspot areas. By the week of May 24, the province expects to open up eligibility to all adults over the age of 18.
