A Rocha Ghana has said saving the Atewa Forest is a must and has nothing to do with propaganda as alleged.
This comes in a direct reply to the Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Corporation (GIADEC) after it claimed that the idea that the whole of Atewa Forest will be destroyed by bauxite mining is propaganda.
According to A Rocha Ghana, saving the Atewa Forest is the sustainable and responsible use of the country’s natural resources and without any form of links to propaganda.
A Rocha Ghana insists that the loss of the forest and habitats would be irreversible and would also cause wider damage to the integrity and ecosystem service provision of a much greater area of forest around it.
Law enforcement agencies slated for submitting substandard reports in Parliament

Cape Town - Parliamentarians told the country’s top law enforcement agencies that they did not want fancy presentations on the work they do, but a demonstration of the progress from their previous reports.
This emerged when three law enforcement agencies came under criticism from the MPs over the report they provided to the justice and correctional services portfolio committee.
The Special Investigating Unit (SIU), National Prosecuting Authority and Hawks were reporting on investigations into the Master’s Office, Office of the State Attorney and Covid-19 cases.
Mozambique expects to inoculate 16 million high-risk people against the coronavirus by 2022, says a top government health official. Mozambique will begin COVID-19 vaccinations on Monday after receiving a donation of 200 000 doses from the China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) last week.
Frontline heath workers will be the first people in Mozambique to be vaccinated against coronavirus once national supplies arrive at the end of this week, the health ministry says.
Benigna Matsinhe, Mozambiqueâs Deputy National Director of Public Health, made the announcement at a press conference on Monday, but did not say how many were being delivered.
Dr Matsinhe said the consignment was coming from China and there was a long queue of nations all seeking the same supplies.
So far 406,550 people in Mozambique have been tested for coronavirus.
âAlthough we are seeing an apparent stabilization [in infection rates], it is not yet measurableâ, she said. âWe must not relax the preventive measures against Covid-19â.
