ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Following the arrest of the husband of an Orange County deputy for charges related to the Capitol riots in January, the sheriff’s office will conduct a review to determine if she was aware of her spouses ties to the extremists group and the events of Jan. 6.
Orange County sheriff’s Deputy Sarah Jackman has not been accused of any wrongdoing and OCSO records show she was at work on Jan. 6 when her husband, Arthur Jackman, is accused of entering the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., along with hundreds of other rioters.
Local leaders of last summer’s nationwide push for police reform said they’re alarmed by Tuesday’s revelation that a member of the far-right nationalist Proud Boys accused of participating in the U.S. Capitol riot is married to an Orange County deputy sheriff.
