Bondi Rescue star and Waverley Councilâs head lifeguard Bruce âHoppoâ Hopkins and former Iron Man Craig Riddington.
After 15 seasons of
Bondi Rescue which now airs in 100 countries, Mr Hopkins, the president of Surf Educators International, said he didnât want to be remembered only as the âguy in that lifeguard showâ.

Lifesavers have renewed calls for swimmers to stick to patrolled areas as national drowning deaths spiked to 61, including seven on the Australia Day long weekend. All coastal drownings this year have been in unpatrolled areas, some just 600m away from an established location, said Surf Life Saving NSW chief executive officer Steve Pearce.
