Over 150,000 Covid jabs given on the Isle of Wight
Over 150,000 vaccines have been given out on the Isle of Wight, with over 60,000 of those as second doses
The Isle of Wight has surpassed the 150,000 Covid vaccine mark.
Latest data from NHS England published last Thursday, and recorded by the National Immunisation Management Service (NIMS), shows a total of 156,038 first and second vaccines have been given out.
In the week ending 16th May, 7,793 doses 2,065 first and 5,728 second were given.
Under 40s
Earlier this week, in some areas of the Island where GPs are controlling the rollout of the vaccine (hubs at Westridge, West Wight Sports Centre, The Bay Medical Centre and in Carisbrooke), people in their 20s have been invited to have their vaccination.

Another chance to see HMS Queen Elizabeth as she unexpectedly returns to Portsmouth

The Royal Navy’s flagship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, has been forced to return to Portsmouth’s Naval base in an unscheduled stop ahead of the bad weather conditions in the coming days.
HMS Queen Elizabeth only recently left Portsmouth to travel up to Scotland and take part in an exercise off the coast, Exercise Strike Warrior, where she met ships from the USA, Denmark, Norway and France.
