Multiple theologically progressive congregations in the United Methodist Church are in the process of leaving the mainline Protestant denomination due to its stance on LGBT issues.

DOVER Members of the group Sole Purpose are hosting their annual pancake breakfast on March 6 from 8 a.m. to noon at the First Moravian Church of Dover. This will be a carryout event. Park in the parking lot and a member of the group will come to your car, take your order and return with your food. The church is located at the corner of N. Walnut Street and Fourth Street. The organization of youth and parents raise funds to put “shoes on children’s feet” of children from kindergarten through the fifth grade in Tuscarawas County. Cost is $5 per person and free for those under age 3.
