People told to ‘shine a light’ after Sarah Everard vigil is cancelled Tammy Hughes UP NEXT
People have been told to “shine a light” from their doorsteps to remember Sarah Everard after a vigil for the 33-year-old was cancelled.
Reclaim These Streets had organised for the event to take place on Saturday at Clapham Common, close to where Ms Everard went missing.
However, they were forced to cancel after talks with police.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the campaign group said it would be joining people across the country and “shining a light – a candle, a torch, a phone – to remember Sarah Everard and all the women affected by and lost to violence” at 9.30pm on Saturday.
