Updated: 12:27 PM EST Jan 21, 2021 A man is facing charges in the death of his mother, who was found dead in the basement of her Massachusetts home earlier this week.Timothy Martin, 23, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was charged with murder and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon in the apparent homicide of 61-year-old Pamela Wood.Police in Wakefield, Massachusetts, responded Tuesday to Wood s home on Otis Street for a well-being check after she failed to show up to an appointment at Greenwood Elementary School where she worked as a speech therapist. The school reached out to the family, who in turn contacted Wakefield police.Police found Wood obviously deceased in the basement of multiple traumatic injuries, District Attorney Marian Ryan said. After police located Wood s body, Martin ran at officers from a corner of the basement with a knife that he was holding above his head, officials said.Two Wakefield officers discharged their guns striking him, offici
