Fire restrictions end for Gannawarra
The Fire Danger Period (FDP) will finish at
1.00am on Monday, 15 March in the following municipalities in CFAâs District 20:

Above average summer rainfall has led to a reduced bushfire risk for autumn, and these conditions have led to reduced fire activity in both grasslands and forests this summer.
According to the latest Australian Seasonal Outlook, much of Victoria will continue to experience milder conditions and lower bushfire potential over the coming months.
CFA District 20 Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) Bryan Suckling said although some of the rainfall was patchy across the district, thereâs been a clear reduction in grass fire response.

Council has been inspecting properties and issuing notices to help reduce the risk of bushfires in the community.
The Municipal Fire Hazard Inspection Program starts every year, before the Fire Danger Period is declared by the CFA in preparation for the hotter months
Council Officers inspect properties to ensure that grass and vegetation are within acceptable limits, issuing Fire Prevention Notices to property owners who need to clean up their property to reduce the bushfire risk.
At this time of year, it is crucial that property owners ensure their grass and vegetation is kept under control, to reduce the risk of bushfire spreading in the community.
Moyne Shire Council Offers Free Green Waste Disposal
The Moyne Shire Council is offering free domestic green waste disposal, at the shire s transfer stations this coming weekend.
The move will assist local residents in preparing for the Fire Danger Period, which commences in the municipality at 01:00am on Monday morning (Dec 21).
Moyne Shire Mayor Daniel Meade, said it was important that residents ensure that they safely carry out their fire preparations. This is a real positive that we can offer a free dumping service for green waste in our transfer stations he said. It gives ratepayers and residents the opportunity to do a bit of cleaning up, bit of fire preparedness in the lead up to christmas
