Fourth St., Steubenville, will be giving away 100 shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts gathered from a number of area churches in West Virginia through the initiative of Youth Pastor Richard Davis of Open Door Baptist Church in Colliers. “It is similar to the Operation Christmas Child program but for local children,” explained Bobbyjon Bauman, center director. “All children ages grades kindergarten through eight are welcome to pick up a box,” he said. “They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and no paperwork is required for verification of income level, but we request that if you have enough gifts for your children you pass on the word to those who have a need for gifts for their kids or grandkids.” With Bauman, right, and some of the shoeboxes are Richard and Cynthia Davis of Open Door Baptist of Colliers.
