The initiative, originally scheduled to begin last November but postponed due to the second lockdown, is to launch in Belfast on May 17 Customers can earn up to £250 per returned item, which will be given to them in the form of a voucher to spend at the store. Used products returned as good as new with no scratches will be bought for 50 percent of the original price, items with minor scratches will be bought for 40 percent and furniture that is well used with several scratches will be bought for 30 percent.

Customers can earn up to £250 per returned item, which will be given to them in the form of a voucher to spend at the store. What you can sell and how much for Products eligible for Buy Back include dressers, office drawer cabinets, small structures with drawers, display storage and sideboards, bookcases and shelf units, small tables, multimedia furniture, cabinets, dining tables and desks, chairs and stools without upholstery, chests of drawers and children’s products, with the exception of baby items.

No worries! Starting from today, IKEA customers across the UK have the chance to sell their old furniture to one of the retailer’s stores in exchange for vouchers. The Swedish retailer has launched the long-awaited furniture buyback and resale scheme with customers able to earn up to £250. Used products with no scratches will be bought for 50% of the original price. Items with minor scratches will be bought for 40% while pieces of furniture with many scratches will be bought for 30%.

The returned furniture will then be resold by the retailer at a lower price/ Used products that are returned in top condition will be bought for 50 per cent of the original price, customers will receive 40 per cent for items with minor scratches and 30 per cent for “well used” furniture.  The original November launch date was postponed due to the second national coronavirus lockdown last year.  Peter Jelkeby, country retail manager and UK and Ireland chief sustainability officer, said: “Households are connected to around 60 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions, consuming around a third of the energy and ten per cent of the water used globally.
