Goodwill Zwelithini's eldest wife says hers was the o...

Two court applications are contesting the late King Goodwill Zwelithini’s will, signalling a turbulent succession battle. At the centre are Zwelithini’s eldest wife, Queen Sibongile Dlamini and two of his daughters, princesses Ntandoyenkosi Zulu and Ntombizosuthu Zulu-Duma (Dlamini’s children). In the first matter, Dlamini is laying claim to 50% of Zwelithini’s estate worth more than R71-million and including the Ingonyama Trust, of which the king was the sole trustee. The pair married under civil law in 1969 and therefore in community of property. This was before Zwelithini was crowned, as custom dictated that an unmarried male could not assume the throne.

Breaking: Muslim Woman Has The Right To Invoke Extra-Judicial Divorce, Rules Kerala High Court, Overrules About Half-Century Old Precedent

Share This - x In its judgment, the Court overrules a 49-year-old law barring Muslim women from resorting to extra-judicial modes of dissolving a marriage. Overruling a 49-year-old judgment that effectively barred Muslim women from resorting to extra judicial modes of dissolving marriage, the High Court has upheld the validity of these modes. Finding that the governing law, The Dissolution of Muslim Marriages Act did not contemplate the undoing of the modes of extra-judicial divorce available to women under personal law, the bench of Justices A Muhamed Mustaque and CS Dias held, All other forms of extra-judicial divorce as referred in Section 2 of the Shariat Act are thus available to a Muslim women. We, therefore, hold that the law declared in K.C.Moyin s case (supra) is not good law.

Why Charles and Camilla couldn't wed at Windsor Castle – Royal Central

Photo: Charlie Proctor / Royal Central When the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall announced their engagement in February 2005 they wasted no time in setting a date or venue for their marriage. They immediately told the world they would marry in April that year in a civil ceremony at Windsor Castle followed by a service of blessing at St. George’s Chapel later the same day. Yet just a week later, they had to move their civil marriage out of the castle. So why did the future king have to change his wedding plans? It all came down to the terms of a licence. Until the mid-1990s, civil marriages in England and Wales could only be held in register offices. The Marriages Act 1994 allowed these ceremonies to take place in other buildings, like castles, as long as the venue is licenced. Windsor Castle wasn’t but any fledgeling applications were stopped in their tracks by one rule. The terms of a licence state that the venue must ‘’be regularly available to the public for
