Around 8:35 p.m. on the evening of Dec. 25, police found a body in a car on the south side of East 82nd Street near South Drexel Avenue, in the city’s East Chatham neighborhood. At first, responding officers thought that the victim, who was pronounced dead on the scene, had been killed in a hit-and-run crash. But police later found she had died from gunshot wounds.
