First United Methodist Church of Van Wert has selected Jeremy Laukhuf to be its new praise and worship leader. As the praise and worship leader, he will lead music and worship at the casual/contemporary service, currently meeting at 8:30 Sunday mornings.
Laukhuf and his family moved to Van Wert in 2019, and he currently serves as field director for LifeWise Academy (formerly Cross Over the Hill), where he works to help communities nationwide legally teach the Bible during public school hours.

Just a reminder that this year’s Southern Gospel Expo will be this weekend, April 9-11, at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.
The Guardians
Hosted by local gospel trio Trinity, the weekend will kick off at 5 p.m. Friday with gospel groups, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. On Saturday, the first group will sing at 4 p.m., while the Trinity Friends youth group will open the church food court both Friday and Saturday approximately an hour prior to the start of the music.
Featured on Sunday will be Trinity and The Guardians, a gospel quartet comprised of Dean Hickman, John Darin Rowsey, Pat Barker, and Scott Mullins.

VAN WERT Noah Girod is a young man incarcerated in the Allen
Correctional Institution who had donated $100 to Trinity Friends Church for their food pantry.
Girod makes $0.39 per hour, so a $100 gift is a
big accomplishment. He set the amount high so he’d have to work for it.
He is hoping to show Van Wert that he is really trying to give back to
