IG pays rich tributes to police martyrs

Islamabad : Inspector-General Islamabad police Qazi Jamil ur Rehman has lauded the security arrangements undertaken by the capital city police on the occasion of Eidul Fitr as no significant untoward incident took place in the city during the Eid holidays.
The IGP offered Eidul Fitr prayers along with senior officers at the Police Lines Headquarters here and also visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada. He offered ‘Fateha’ for the martyred souls and laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar. The IGP joined the personnel at the feast. Later, the IGP visited the house of martyred ASI Mohsin Zafar and met with his family members. He also gave gifts to the family members of the martyred personnel and remembered services of the deceased.
108 families of police martyrs given gifts on Eid days

MARDAN: Sub-divisional police officers and station house of officers of all the four tehsils visited the families of police martyrs in all the four tehsils of the district during Eidul Fitr days.
A police spokesman said that on the directives of District Police Officer Dr Zahidullah Khan, the officials of all police stations visited the families of the police martyrs in their respective jurisdictions in all four tehsils including Mardan, Takhtbhai, Katlang and Shahbaz Gharhi areas.
The cops offered Eid gifts and sweets to around 108 families, who have been registered with the district police in the list of police martyrs’ heirs.
Bilawal pays rich tribute to martyrs of May 12 massacre

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the May 12, 2007 massacre who were brutally assassinated on the streets of Karachi at the hands of the then dictator and his henchmen.
In his message on the 14th martyrdom anniversary on Wednesday, he expressed grief on the precious lives lost during the mayhem and described the tragedy as one of the saddest incidents in the history of Pakistan, which could not be forgotten. âAgony suffered by the families of all those, including workers of the PPP and other democratic parties, lawyers and common people is still felt by all even after more than a decade,â he added.
