The National Prosecuting Authority of South Africa is seeking Interpol assistance with Gupta s arrest.
Former Transnet Board member and business partner to Gupta associate Salim Essa, Iqbal Sharma, and three former senior Free State government officials appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court today on charges of procurement fraud involving R24million, paid by the Free State Department of Agriculture (FSDoA) to Nulane Investment 204 (PTY) LTD a company owned and controlled by Sharma the statement from the NPA said.
From there, the funds were diverted to Islandsite Investments 180 (Pty) Ltd (Islandsite), a company owned and controlled by the Gupta family, it added.

The Investigating Directorate has turned to Interpol to secure the arrest of Atul and Rajesh Gupta and their wives as a former business partner of Salim Essa and three former Free State officials appeared in court on charges linked to the Vrede dairy farm project.
Former Transnet board member Iqbal Sharma and the three former provincial agriculture department officials appeared in the Bloemfontein magistrate’s court on Thursday on charges of tender fraud totalling R24-million.
INTERPOL has been asked to assist with the execution of arrest warrants for the Gupta family and four others to appear in court over R24 million fraud, the National Prosecuting Authority has said.
