This is especially as the two big parties; the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are poised to taking over power from the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state.
Pundits have reached a consensus that the election is a straight battle among the three political parties even though the Young Progressives Party (YPP) and others have also activated their political structures ahead of the election.
Political analysts say the election is critical to the participating parties as it would determine, to a large extent, their performance and add value to their strength in the 2023 general polls.

In the last seven years, various courts have awarded the sum of N836.318bn (N98.318 billion and over $1.8billion) to oil-producing communities in Niger Delta as compensations for oil spills and land encroachment, an independent data seen by Daily Trust on Sunday indicated.
Some of the court’s decisions are however being challenged at appellate level.
A source close to the cleric told one of our reporters that charges were already prepared against Abduljabbar who, according to the source, was to be picked up from the venue of the debate which held at the Kano State Shari’a Commission offices.
Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, confirmed the police invitation last night but insisted that the invitation had nothing to do with the Saturday’s debate.
“It is part of an ongoing case for which he is on bail. There was a petition from some scholars which the police had been working on and he routinely comes around as part of the investigation. He was to come on Friday but because of the preparation for the debate the day was shifted to allow him participate in the debate,” Kiyawa said.
The recurring sociopolitical and economic crises as well as insecurity challenges bedeviling the nation have been variously attributed to marginalization of certain regions in the scheme of things in the nation’s corporate existence.
The clamour and agitations have gotten to a boiling point with the rise in demand for self-determination through secession and or separatism.
For the agitators, if the country must remain united and enjoy relative peace and stability, then, the solution is restructuring through referendum. This has been the key demand of the agitators.
Another demand which is also on the front burner is clamour for constitutional review which is crucial to restructuring.

The oil palm smallholder farmers, processors and marketers in the country, under the aegis of the National Palm Produce Association of Nigeria (NPPAN), have listed several issues affecting the industry and called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), federal and state governments to address them urgently in order to restore the lost glory of the industry in the country.
The national president of the association, Ambassador Alphonsus Inyang, called on the National Assembly to, as matter of urgency, enact a law establishing the National Oil Palm Development Council “to regulate, incentivise investment, fund and provide a level-playing field for the industry.”
