A virtual extraordinary meeting was held by Ringwood Town Council’s planning, town and environment committee on Tuesday night to discuss an outline planning application for land north of Hightown Road. The meeting also heard calls for a new school to be built to accommodate large developments in the town.
The plans Taylor Wimpey wants to build up to 400 new homes, to include 50 per cent affordable housing, and three hectares of employment land on fields north of Hightown Road, near the A31.
At the outset, it is very important to remind the Minister of Finance that the country necessitates a “paradigm shift” for a fresh departure with fundamental reforms which might not be an asset politically but to help the country to regenerate financially and in the long term socially.

OPCW Member States Develop Knowledge of CWC Requirements to Declare Relevant Chemicals and Facilities for Verification
National practitioners from 31 Member States of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) yesterday completed a six-week online training course that will improve their ability to implement declaration and inspection obligations under Article VI of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
The Senior Coordination and Planning Officer from OPCW’s Implementation Support Branch, Ms Chizu Matsushita, emphasised: “The design of this programme, starting from self-assessment, followed by e-learning and interactive training, and ending with post-training action plans, encourages deeper ownership of Article VI implementation among national stakeholders. We are confident that the course will help practitioners to more effectively fulfil their own country’s obligations under the Convention.”
Ada East Assembly engages residents on planning

The Ada East District Assembly has taken its medium-term policy planning document to the doorstep of residents to ensure broad-based grass-roots stakeholder participation.
Ms Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, Ada East District Chief Executive, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Ada that the assembly initiated the door-to-door engagement as they realised that residents did not participate when it was organised at the zonal council levels.
Ms Pobee said this when she interacted with GNATema team led by Mr Francis Ameyibor, Tema Regional Manager, during a working visit to Ada and its environs to meet leaders in the area.
