Vote No To Changes At Hampton Creek Thursday, May 6, 2021
Next Monday, the Chattanooga/Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency will consider case #2021-0032 and #2021-0033 brought by Ooltewah Golf Club owner Rick Stern. The purpose of the case in short - he wants to abandon the Planned Unit Development that Hampton Creek Subdivision has operated under for 26-years.
Mr. Stern would like to open up property on his golf course so houses can be built. In order to do this the parameters of Hampton Creek Subdivision have to be changed to his liking.
I know. I thought the same thing. How in the world is this even possible? How can the parameters of my neighborhood be changed by someone who does not live in the subdivision and until a year ago had no interest in a golf course? But it is possible.

A proposed RV park that could put 500 dwelling units on 110 acres in Garden City has some residents nervous it could alter the direction of the Bear Lake townâs development.
The project, called âBear Lake RV Resortâ in its application, would be situated between Hodges Canyon Road and the Pickleville Playhouse, taking up many of the fields west of existing houses on State Route 30.
âIn one spot with that type of density, itâs the largest (development) weâve ever seen in Garden City, by far,â said John Spuhler, who served as the townâs mayor from 2010-2018.

The RV resort is being proposed by Sun Communities, Inc., a real estate trust headquartered in the Detroit area.
ITHACA, NY As Incodema moves to a new facility in Dryden later this year, developer Linc Morse has ideas about what to make of its former building at 407 Cliff St. in Ithaca. His plans look at myriad possibilities, including units for short-term and long-term rentals, office space, meeting rooms, retail space, community meeting space, conference space and retail. The name proposed is the Cliff Street Retreat.
However, because of the zoning in that area, the project was in front of the Planning and Economic Development Committee (PEDC) on April 21 for the first steps in its Planned Unit Development (PUD) consideration. PUDs allow for more flexible zoning as long as the project has proven community benefit.
