Solid State Logic expands SSL 500 Series with two new modules - Audio Media International

Solid State Logic expands SSL 500 Series with two new modules 12th April 2021 British manufacturer Solid State Logic (SSL) has expanded its popular SSL 500 Series with two new modules, as well as giving the rest of the range a refresh.  The new UltraViolet Stereo EQ module takes the acclaimed minimum phase-shift Violet stereo EQ section from the new studio-favourite analogue processor Fusion, and puts it into the 500 series format. The module adds two dedicated mid-bands, with ‘Focus’ mode for precision EQ control. Also new to the lineup is the SiX Channel module which is a single-width channel strip that brings the SuperAnalogue processing features from SSL’s compact SiX console to a smaller unit. The SiX Channel is a simple way to add additional mic/line inputs to the line level inputs of any pro audio device, including the Stereo channels of the SiX console.

But vendors, often unable to publicly name their clients, say the technology “future-proofs” their investment while delivering flexibility and savings.

The set-up ended up getting more and more complicated. Over time I was basically building a console piecemeal, with different summing mixers, and
