CONWAY, S.C., Feb. 3, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Horry County School Board Chairman Ken Richardson announced today he is a candidate for the Republican nomination for the South Carolina 7
th Congressional District.
th Congressional District seat currently held by Rep. Tom Rice. I will not be seeking reelection to the school board chairmanship in 2022, Richardson said. Instead I am 100 percent dedicated to taking Tom Rice out of Congress. I want to thank the voters for placing their trust in me as school board chairman, Richardson said. I believe we have made a lot of progress within the school district and will continue to do my very best for the students of the Horry County in the two years I have left in office.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - The City of Myrtle Beach offered an update to one of its long-term projects over the weekend.
The city shared a photo Sunday on social media showing progress on its underground utility project, which aims to remove overhead utility poles in some areas of the city. The photo shared was along Pampas Drive near The Market Common, showing a comparison between earlier this month and the same time in 2020.

LONGWOOD Sandra Carol Kelly, 60, peacefully passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home.
Born Sept. 3, 1960, Carol lived a long and wonderful life admired and loved by many. She is now in the arms of her family and friends that left her before her time.
She attended culinary school at Horry-Georgetown Technical College, where she graduated and went on to build her career. Starting her career as a waitress, she quickly moved her way up to becoming a chef, eventually managing her own kitchen staff.
Carol was a loving wife to her husband of 23 years, Donald Kelly; loving mother to her four children, Johnathan Barbour, Matthew Barbour, Oren Aleman and Christopher Barbour, who preceded her in death. She was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren.
