ANN ARBOR, MI - The Ann Arbor City Council will take up a resolution to remove Council Member Jeff Hayner from his board and commission seats until December for his use of a quote on social media that attacked journalists and contained a homophobic slur.
The City of Ann Arbor’s Council Administration Committee approved the resolution, which also requests that Hayner engage in sensitivity training, by a 4-1 vote Tuesday, April 13. Committee member Kathy Griswold dissented. The proposed resolution also includes that Hayner would be removed from the city’s audit committee for the same period of time by Mayor Christopher Taylor.
