OVER 300 persons have been admitted of cholera following an outbreak of the disease in Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State just as the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has intensified community sensitisation to cholera and severe diarrhoea diseases outbreak, as the death toll rises from 54 to 60.
In Bauchi State, the ActionAid Nigeria has urged the state government and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to declare a state of emergency over the outbreak in the state to save the residents from the disease.

Bauchi housewife allegedly burns eight-year-old stepdaughter’s private parts

The police in Bauchi State have arrested a housewife, Aisha Gaide, for allegedly burning the private parts of her eight-year-old stepdaughter with matches.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Bauchi on Tuesday, explained that the suspect was angry at the little girl and decided to burn her private parts with matches after severe beating.
He stated that the suspect was arrested and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department.
Wakil said, “On February 15, 2021, around 6pm, the Secretary to the State Action Committee on Gender Based Violence, Mrs Talatu Musa, arrested and brought one Aisha Abdullahi Gaide of Kofar Durmi near Tudun Tarima, Bauchi, to the State Criminal Investigation Department.

The police in Bauchi State said they had apprehended no fewer than 18 persons, including nine teenagers, for allegedly organising a sex party in Dass town, Dass Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ahmed Wakil, who disclosed this while parading the suspects before journalists at the command’s headquarters in Bauchi on Wednesday, said the suspects were arrested following the command’s efforts to crack down on criminal activities across the state.
He said, “In furtherance to our commitment to cracking down on criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, indecent acts and thuggery, the command has made adequate use of intelligence gathering towards continuous maintenance of law and order, and this has continued to yield positive results.
