Lt Governor Chairs 81st Kashmir University Council Meet
The Lt Governor, who is the Chancellor of the University, sought a detailed report on the activities and various initiatives taken by the University of Kashmir and advised the University authorities to take comprehensive measures for strengthening the academic and research environment in the University.
Prof Talat Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir gave a PowerPoint presentation regarding the initiatives and achievements of the University, highlighting various administrative, academic, financial, and examination related reforms and research breakthroughs made by the University. He apprised the chair about new programs introduced, research and extension activities, collaborations and linkages with universities around the world, recent research collaborations, and MoUs signed.
J&K Colleges To Restart Class Work From Feb 1
SRINAGAR: The normal classwork in all colleges of Jammu and Kashmir will resume from February 1, the government said on Thursday.
Commissioner Secretary Talat Parvez Rohella said that the classes will be held keeping all COVID-19 SOPs in practice.
As per the government, the classwork for students in Jammu colleges will start on February 1 while as in Kashmir valley, classes will resume on February 15.
“We will take all precautionary measures for resuming classes. Sanitization of college premises and other precautionary measures will be taken care of by the department. The teachers have already been trained in this regard,” Rohella said.

Share this Post: JAMMU, Jan 28: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today chaired a meeting to review the progress on allocation of land for the newly established degree colleges across Jammu and Kashmir at Civil Secretariat here. The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Sharma; Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department (HED), Talat Parvez Rohella; Vice Chairman JDA, Babila Rakhwal; Director Colleges, Prof. M.Y Peerzada, Principals of newly established colleges and other concerned officials while as Deputy Commissioners of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Budgam and Kupwara districts participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

JAMMU, Jan 17: Commis-sioner Secretary Higher Education Department Talat Parvez Rohella today visited the seven days Annual Training Camp (ATC) being organized by 2nd J&K Girls Battalion NCC at Camping Ground Nagrota to boost the spirit of cadets, the future warriors of India.
Jammu and Kashmir is first in India to start camps for NCC cadets during the present pandemic situation with due cooperation from the civil administration and Army authorities. This was the 6th such camp in the series.
