Vaccination of healthcare providers continues in KP

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department continued vaccination of the doctors and other healthcare providers on Friday against the fast-spreading the novel coronavirus in the province.
The Health Department had kicked off the vaccination drive in the province on Wednesday. Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had formally launched the immunisation campaign in Islamabad where he had called the doctors and other healthcare providers of Hyderabad Medical Complex (HMC), Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) and Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH).
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has received 16,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine from the federal government. China has gifted 0.5 million doses of the vaccine to Pakistan. The government has decided to vaccinate the healthcare providers and particularly the frontline health workers first as they directly dealt with Covid-19 patients in the hospitals.

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that government accorded top priority to vaccination of health workers against Covid-19 as the two-month long drive started on Wednesday at 17 centres established to inoculate more than 30,000 healthcare providers in eight districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He termed the frontline health workers the real heroes of the nation for rendering services during the first wave of the pandemic. He launched the main campaign in the provincial metropolis and told the health workers, who were given doses in his presence, that government and people praised their dedication and professional competence while tackling the pandemic.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan governments initiated the coronavirus inoculation programmes under the leadership of their respective chief ministers on Wednesday.
Frontline health workers in both the provinces were the first ones to get the Covid-19 shots.

The vaccination process for health workers started in the province on Wednesday as a formal inauguration ceremony was held here at Naseerullah Babar Memorial Hospital.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) on Monday has approved the appeal of Pakistani singer and actress Meesha Shafi against the decision of Lahore High Court (LHC) for initial hearing.
According to details, the court has issued notices to singer, model and actor Ali Zafar and Punjab Advocate General, remarking that suo moto notice over the definition of harassment is also under hearing.
Moreover, the proceedings on the case have been adjourned for indefinite time period.
