Sayyid Theyazin to preside over research award event

Muscat: Dr. Saif bin Abdullah Al Hiddabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation for Research and Innovation, said that the preparations for the holding of the seventh cycle of the Annual Research Forum have been completed and the winners of the National Research Award will be announced on January 18, 2021.
The forum will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, in the presence of Prof. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and a number of ministers, researchers, academics and National Research Award winners.

Oman s Sultan Haitham will be succeeded by his eldest son Dhi Yazan, according to a
new basic law published on Tuesday that creates a new position of crown prince and establishes succession from ruler to the eldest son.
Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said had announced plans for the constitutional change on Monday, a year after the death of his predecessor, Sultan Qaboos. The new basic law was published on Tuesday in the official gazette.
