July 19, 2021 PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Sunday paid surprise visits to various places, including hospitals, check-posts, police stations and other public places in Mardan and Malakand districts and suspended a number of officials over negligence towards their duties. A handout said the chief minister drove to Mardan and Malakand without any protocol and security escorts. During his visit to the Excise check-post at Sher Ghar in Mardan, Mahmood Khan ordered the immediate suspension of all the staff deputed there for being negligent in duties. As the chief minister reached the check-post, the staff on duty was found relaxing in a room instead of checking vehicles on the road.

Ministers, advisers allotted portfolios in KP Peshawar May 21, 2021 PESHAWAR: After recent reshuffle in the cabinet, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Thursday allotted portfolios to the ministers, advisors and special assistants, with assigning Mohammad Atif Khan two different ministries, including food and science and information technology. The chief minister had reshuffled the cabinet a month ago and replaced some of the members, reportedly owing to poor performance. According to a notification, Fazle Shakoor Khan has been appointed as minister of law and parliamentary affairs and human rights. He is the new face in the cabinet. Belonging to Charsadda, Fazle Shakoor Khan was elected an MPA on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ticket.

ADC among 23 die in Peshawar due to coronavirus National May 19, 2021 PESHAWAR: An administrative official of Peshawar was among 23 who lost lives to coronavirus in the province on Tuesday, taking the toll from the viral infection to 3,827. After being diagnosed with the infectious disease, Additional Assistant Commissioner (ADC) of Peshawar, Shams-ul-Islam, was admitted to the Hayatabad Medical Complex, where he remained under treatment for 45 days, but could not survive. The ADC was pronounced dead on Tuesday after remaining on a ventilator for over a week. His body was transported to his native village in Dargai town of the Malakand district and was laid to rest in the family graveyard at a largely attended funeral. Meanwhile, up to 385 more people tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
