What vaccines have been authorized for children?
The Food and Drug Administration so far has given emergency authorization only to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for young people aged 12 to 17. The vaccine has been authorized for use in 16- and 17-year-olds since December, although in most states, eligibility for older teens was delayed until April. In May, children ages 12 to 15 became eligible for the Pfizer shot. Two other vaccines are likely to be given emergency authorization for children in the coming months. Moderna is testing its vaccine in 3,000 children ages 12 to 17 and may have results for that age group within weeks. Johnson & Johnson in April also began studying 12- to 17-year-olds.

When singer-songwriter Amy Speace decided to try for a baby, it became a race against time that changed her life forever
22 May 2021 • 5:00pm I just take it day-by-day and focus on the positives, of which there are so many. Being with Huckleberry is a constant joy, says Amy Speace
In the last few weeks my three-year-old son, Huckleberry, has started putting whole sentences together. He knows all the words to “Moon River” - my favourite song, from which he gets his name. On a trip to a restaurant with my mother the other evening, he insisted on formally introducing us all to the waiter. Every day brings something new.
