Pinnacle@Duxton review: More liveable than you might think

1,848 I think it’s safe to say that The Pinnacle@Duxton is probably Singapore’s most well-known HDB project. It has made headlines for many reasons, one of which is its superbly central location in Tanjong Pagar along Cantonment Road. It was also Singapore’s very first 50-storey public housing and also features 2 Sky Bridges that offers a panoramic view of the city – unheard of in the public housing market when it was first announced. Moreover, the HDB even launched an international architectural design competition and received over 200 submissions which eventually led to the design that we see today. Now 10 years on (time flies, doesn’t it), The Pinnacle@Duxton has drawn both praise and criticism since its announcement.

NYON review: Peranakan-inspired boutique condo

Sep 2022 For the benefit of those less familiar with the East, the culturally rich neighbourhood of Katong was an area once filled with coconut plantations and dominated by seaside bungalows and pre-war shophouses for wealthy Peranakans and Eurasians. Today, the shophouses continue to stand strong with its immaculate motifs and colourful facades while many of the bungalows have given way to high rise condominiums. In fact, Aurum Land’s acquisition of several landed homes to build NYON has effectively brought the end to landed property plots left along Amber Road. Playing on its distinguished surroundings, NYON’s very name is inspired by the word “Nyonya”, a term which the Peranakan Chinese community commonly refer to themselves by.

5 sea view condos you can own for under $1 5m (Q3 2020)

Profile: Costa Del Sol is situated in a cluster with two other condos along Bayshore Road. These include Bayshore Park, and The Bayshore. This development is noted for its layout, which ensures that every block has a clear view of East Coast beach. As far as sea view condos go, this one is quite good. Living room units have floor to ceiling picture windows, which maximise the view. There’s also an underpass with resident-access only; through here, you can get to the beach in under five minutes. As a bonus, this opens up to the part of East Coast Beach which is around 10 minutes’ walk to the Food Village, and is immediately at one of the BBQ pit areas.
