Grange Audubon displays Conservation Through a Lens

BlogsCommunityMusicArtsScreenEat & DrinkLegals Thomas Worthington grad Justin Grubb’s beautiful wildlife photos tell stories of conservation from around the world Columbus Alive When Justin Grubb was growing up in Worthington, he had a creek in his backyard where he would go exploring and catch fish, frogs and tadpoles. These days, Grubb is still pursuing his fascination with nature, but as a wildlife filmmaker and photographer, his play area now stretches across the globe.   For the first time, Grubb is displaying his photography work in an exhibition, “Conservation Through a Lens,” on view now through June 18 at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, and afterward from July 12 through Sept. 2 at the McConnell Arts Center in Worthington. The photos are also for sale, with all proceeds going to the Audubon Center and other conservation organizations.

The Thomas and Kilbourne classes of 2021 will receive their diplomas during in-person commencement ceremonies May 24 and 25, respectively, at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on the Ohio State University campus. The ceremonies mark a return to normalcy for the most part, according to Worthington Schools superintendent Trent Bowers. A four-guest limit per student still will be in place, however.

Pickerington Athletics: Bo Hanson, Molly Feesler moving on from AD roles at Central, North ThisWeek group Both Pickerington high schools will have new athletics directors next fall, although their moves were determined before the recent failure of a bond issue that would have led to improvements at both facilities. Central athletics director Bo Hanson will take the same job at Heath, and North’s Molly Feesler will take over at Thomas Worthington pending school board approval. Feesler has been at North since 2012. Hanson came to Central in 2018. Feesler, who accepted the Thomas position April 23, will succeed Jen Goebbel, who has been athletics director since 2017 and will return to teaching this fall.

Gahanna Lincoln Roundup: Lions softball seniors grow into leaders ThisWeek group Becoming a leader is something Gahanna Lincoln softball player Dani Shoulders expected to be a challenge this spring.  One of four seniors in a program that features a talented sophomore class, Shoulders gained experience as a sophomore in 2019 when the Lions went 17-10 and reached a Division I regional semifinal.  One of the things she missed out on when the 2020 season was canceled was the opportunity to see last year’s seniors provide guidance to younger players. But with the postseason approaching, Shoulders has found her voice as a leader and is happy to shoulder the load.
