Jan 29, 2021 2:12 PM That British dude who got drunk on Christmas Eve and changed his name to Celine Dion says even though he s sobered up, he s perfectly happy with his new name and isn t going to change it back. In a first-person essay for Metro , the man formerly known as Thomas Dodd explains, Iâve always been a huge fan of hers.A few years ago I went to see her in Birmingham where I splashed out on VIP tickets.Even before that, I considered I Drove All Night my anthem and would blast it through my car stereo on the way home from night shifts.

Strike Two?
Here’s a follow-up to the recent battle between Mars Wrigley Confectionery and Mohammed Garadi. If you recall and of course you do; you hang on our every word, right? Mars and Garadi were locked in a deadly duel of catty memos regarding Mars’ motion to have the case dismissed. Mars led off its missive in support by lambasting Garadi’s counsel for filing a strike suit a class action among a hundred others that employs “a raft of recycled complaints” against food manufacturers that “leverage the threat of putative class claims and force early settlements.”
He went on to say that he âgot used to being Celine very quicklyâ and that, since going viral, people have started to recognise him on the street. âI was on the escalator in ASDA a few weeks ago and someone shouted âCeline!ââ he said. âI turned around and waved back as if it was completely normal.â
Of what Dion herself might think, Dodd reckoned that âbecause sheâs a little bit loopy like me, sheâll find it funnyâ, but added that he needed to apologise to her for âcausing chaosâ.
Although he said life under the name Celine Dion had been âgreat so farâ, there were some cons to the name change. âI hurt my shoulder a few weeks ago and I didnât want to go to the hospital for fear they would think Iâd hit my head,â he explained.
