IPOH: Kampar MP Thomas Su ( pic) has apologised for the ruckus that broke out during Sunday (March 14) s Perak DAP state convention. The national party assistant organising secretary said his actions had tarnished the party’s reputation and his own public image. “I do take responsibility for the said incident, he added. The incident broke out after Su alleged that others held an unfair advantage in the state polls. He claimed that the registration of delegates was not conducted fairly as it went past the deadline set. He also claimed that they were denied access to the attendance list. Su said he hopes the party central executive committee would look into his explanation of what transpired.

Clean sweep by Nga s team at Perak DAP polls

IPOH: Perak DAP will continue to be led by Nga Kor Ming as chairman with his team making a clean sweep in the state party polls. Nga, the Teluk Intan MP who is the party’s deputy secretary-general, and 14 others in his team polled more than 1,100 votes each. Kampar MP Thomas Su, who is the national party assistant organising secretary, got only 550 votes. Nga and fellow deputy secretary-general V. Sivakumar, who is Batu Gajah MP, both polled highest with 1,228 votes. Sivakumar was re-appointed state party deputy chief. The results were announced by national DAP Youth deputy chief Chiong Yoke Kong, who was the returning officer for the polls held during the 19th Perak DAP convention here yesterday.

Police report lodged over alleged Covid-19 SOP breaches during ruckus at Perak DAP convention

Kampar MP Thomas Su (centre) IPOH: A police report has been lodged over alleged breaches of the conditional movement control order standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the ruckus at the 19th Perak DAP convention on Sunday (March 14). Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the report was lodged at the Sungai Senam police station. “The ruckus occured between party delegates at about 11am Sunday during the convention. “It was only a verbal altercation and was brought under control without any untoward incidents, ” he said in a statement Monday (March 15). “However, a report has been lodged to investigate any offences related to SOP breaches during the altercation, ” ACP Asmadi added.
