The Vinsave Child Development Centre is volunteering its services to the children and parents in shelters who have been displaced by the eruptions of the soufriere volcano. In a release, the organization said it began its volunteer work in the shelter at Thomas Saunders Secondary School and will eventually include other shelters. THE Organisation of American States (OAS) expressed support for St Vincent and the Grenadines on Thursday as that country continues to deal with the fallout from the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano on April 9.
In a statement, the Foreign and Caricom Affairs Ministry said Trinidad and Tobago and the other 14 Caricom countries were among the OAS member states that voted for a resolution by the OAS s Permanent Council that supported SVG in its hour of need.

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, on a visit to some emergency shelters on Saturday, said that personnel charged with evacuating persons from the red and orange zones have done well.
