CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Penguin Days are back at the Cincinnati Zoo - and they’re offering discounted admission.
From Jan. 18 through March 12, zoo goers can enjoy penguin parades and encounters Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and holiday Mondays.
“We opened two new habitats for our warm weather penguins, little blues and African, in 2020. Now it’s time to celebrate their cold-weather counterparts,” Cincinnati Zoo Director Thane Maynard said in a news release. “The king penguins, appropriately including Coretta Scott and Martin Luther on MLK Day, kicked off Penguin Days today with a spectacular, slow march in front of the bird house.”

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The big day is nearing as the Cincinnati Zoo is offering plenty of ways for everyone to celebrate Fionaâs birthday.
The worldâs most famous hippo is turning four years old on Jan. 24 and to help celebrate Cincinnati businesses partnered with the Zoo to create special Fiona-themed merchandise.
Busken Cookies is selling Fionaâs fourth birthday pack of eight cookies.

It will wrap up bonus night for the PNC Festival of Lights this weekend, with plans for penguin parades and a Fiona birthday virtual race later this month.

A pair of gorillas at the San Diego Zoo on Monday became the latest non-human animals to test positive for COVID-19, joining a list that includes tigers, lions, snow leopards and domestic dogs and cats.
San Diego Zoo officials believe the gorillas caught the sickness from an asymptomatic zookeeper, even though all zookeepers wear protective gear around the animals.
