AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Don Harrington Discovery Center is introducing âFrom Here, to There,â a brand new exhibit all about transportation, flight and travel.
Kids will learn how planes fly and ships sail, and even get the chance to levitate on a fully floating hovercraft.
âWith this exhibit, you can actually sit on the hovercraft and move around,â explains Kyle Hadley, director of education and exhibits for DHDC. âWe explain all about how that works, how it can go over different trains, unlike most vehicles, so its a lot of fun.â

Families can explore the science of how things move by land, sea and air. Ride a hovercraft to experience air pressure, launch rockets to explore propulsion, and float a boat to experiment with air flow. Lift, launch and levitate your way through hands-on exhibits that make learning about gravity, friction, and the laws of motion fun and educational.

Considering everything that has happened in 2020, and is still happening in 2020, it isn t much of a surprise that it s hard to find things happening on New Year s Eve. That doesn t mean we are completely without options, though.
The tricky part is coming up with something to do with the kids. I m fine just sitting around in some sweatpants taking an insane number of naps a day. My kids, however, are not. Big Cheer for a New Year will be on December 31, and it kicks off at 11 AM. There will be activities for the kids all day long.
