Council unanimously passed a Community Standards Bylaw that includes limits on idling, fees for offences, noise limits, and formal bans on littering, graffiti and panhandling.
Construction will be limited to 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. on weekends.

Parked vehicles will be allowed to idle for no more than 30 minutes, unless it is hotter than 30 C or below -20 C. Emergency vehicles are exempted.

There’s a chance you may be paying a bit more in property taxes this year.
Wood Buffalo council met virtually on Tuesday where they set the tax rates for homes, businesses, and other properties in the urban and rural areas.
Residential properties in Fort McMurray, on average, are set to see a six per cent decrease in the municipal tax, however, the education tax is set to rise by around seven per cent.
Overall, the average home will see a one per cent rise from 2020.
The education tax, which the municipality collects on behalf of the province, is seeing a big rise as not enough was brought in back in 2019.

The hospital’s normal acute capacity is 107 beds, including six for the ICU. AHS has expanded to 122 beds, including 11 for the ICU.
Alberta Health spokesperson Tom McMillan said community vaccine numbers will be included in daily updates starting Monday.

John McCombe was a superb, award-winning photographer. But he wasn t one to attend ceremonies to receive the trophies. And nor did he hang his best photos on the walls of his home. Those spaces were reserved for pictures he admired – but taken by others.
