TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Vigo County Democrat Party held a caucus Thursday evening to fill the open seat left by the late councilman Don Morris. Raymond Todd Thacker won the seat.
A Terre Haute resident since 1985, Thacker most recently served as a Union Official for the Local IBEW 725 Post on SR 46.
A total of 78 precinct chairs voted Thursday with only 40 needed to win. Thacker received 41 votes.
“I think I can try to engage more working class people and bring more fundraising to the Democratic party, and I can impact the county council by being a good fiduciary,” Thacker said.
