Gardiner chooses consultant to help with city manager search
The Gardiner City Council will hire Eaton Peabody Consulting Group to conduct the search for its next city manager, who could be named by mid-August.

GARDINER After weighing its own schedule and priorities in the next several months, the Gardiner City Council opted to push ahead with its city manager search Wednesday by choosing a search firm.
After a brief debate at Wednesday’s City Council meeting, elected officials voted 6-0 to hire the Eaton Peabody Consulting Group to undertake the search for Gardiner’s next top administrator, forgoing conducting interviews with the three organizations that responded.

FARMINGTON Residents, business owners and members of organizations are invited to a meeting Thursday, May 13, to discuss challenges facing the town and what qualities the next town manager should possess.

The 6:30 p.m. meeting will be held downstairs at the Community Center, 127 Middle Street. Masks and social distancing will be required.
It is being organized and facilitated by Don Gerrish from Eaton Peabody Consulting Group of Bangor, Davis said Tuesday.
Davis said he did not ask Mt. Blue Community Access TV to livestream the meeting.

FARMINGTON Selectmen on Tuesday night hired Eaton Peabody Consulting Group of Bangor to assist in the search for a new town manager.

Proposals to assist in the search were received by Eaton Peabody and Maine Municipal Association. The services provided and costs are similar, Davis said.

MMA’s proposal was $6,400 and Eaton Peabody’s was $6,000. Both are exclusive of advertising costs and any other expenses such as mileage and meals for having candidates come to town, Davis said. Advertising is estimated to be $1,000 to $1,500, he noted.
