PHOENIX â Expect closures or lane restrictions on Loop 101 and some parts of Interstate 10 this weekend, May 14-17, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Westbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) closed between Scottsdale Road and Tatum Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (May 17) for widening project. Westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Pima and Hayden roads also closed.
Detour: Consider alternate routes including westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to northbound State Route 51. Expect heavy traffic if exiting Loop 101 at Scottsdale Road. Drivers north of Loop 101 can consider detouring on westbound Pinnacle Peak Road and southbound Tatum Boulevard. Drivers south of Loop 101 can consider detouring on westbound Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard/Bell Road to northbound Tatum Boulevard or SR 51.

PHOENIX â There are a few weekend freeway construction closures that drivers should expect to impact traffic this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Westbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) closed between Pima and Scottsdale roads from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (May 10) for widening project. North- and westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Raintree Drive and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard closed.
Detour: Consider alternate routes including westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to northbound State Route 51. Expect heavy traffic if exiting Loop 101 at Pima Road. Traffic exiting there can detour on westbound Thompson Peak Parkway and southbound Scottsdale Road. Drivers also can consider using westbound Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and northbound Scottsdale Road to reach westbound Loop 101.

PHOENIX Here’s a breakdown of the closures and restrictions you can expect to see around the Valley this weekend.
North Valley
Loop 101 eastbound is closed between 7th Street and Cave Creek Road for widening project from Friday 10 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m. Both I-17 ramps to Loop 101 eastbound are closed. Loop 101 eastbound on-ramps at 27th, 19th and 7th avenues are closed.
Consider alternate routes including eastbound Union Hills Drive or eastbound Deer Valley Road.

PHOENIX, AZ Local residents came together during the protests last summer in Phoenix that took place in response to the police killing of George Floyd, as well as similar protests around the country and globe.
Samuel Merten, Jacob Raiford and Amy Meglio were moved by the protests to create a proposal for a neighborhood crisis assistance program to prevent such killings from happening in the Valley.

George Floyd s murder resonated deeply in Arizona, where protesters and other advocates for social and criminal justice spoke up about the need for reform.
