The Palm Beach County School Board is holding a special meeting to discuss a new equity statement that was just approved a couple of weeks ago.
Parents are upset about a line that reads: “The School District of Palm Beach County is committed to dismantling structures rooted in white advantage.”
Parents who spoke when the topic was brought up after midnight during last week s regular school board meeting were highly emotional, with one parent saying We should not be ashamed from what the color of our skin looks like. We are children of God.
Board Chairman Frank Barbieri spoke out in favor of changing the wording, but overall likes the equity statement, which some label as racist and Marxist.
