MILWAUKEE - In less than 170 days, Milwaukee will lose one of three private ambulance services at a time when 911 calls are at an all-time high.
During an Ambulance Service Board meeting Monday, May 10, Milwaukee Fire Department officials presented possible solutions on the looming ambulance shortage. We do need to be moving with urgency on this, said Chief Aaron Lipski. Staffing and labor is everybody’s challenge, and we share in that, said Ed Matteson, Midwest Medical.
In April, Midwest Medical which owns Paratech Ambulance told Chief Lipski they are terminating their contract. They primarily service the northwest side of Milwaukee.

Acting Chief Aaron Lipski is sounding the alarm on a looming problem for the fire department. This is not sustainable. Our membership is beyond burned out with this, Lipski said.

Emergency crews respond to fires in Waukesha County, Milwaukee
Fires blazes in Milwaukee and in Waukesha County on Saturday, firefighters battling not only the heat but the frigid air temperatures.
MILWAUKEE - Fire crews were called to an apartment fire near 25th and Wells shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday.
An apartment inside a multi-unit apartment building was on fire, according to police.
A 22-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.
One firefighter was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to MFD Fire Chief Lipski.
