Shooting on Pulford Street in Opelousas leaves three injured

Three people were injured in a shooting in north Opelousas, the police department said. Officers were called at about 1 a.m. to the 600 block of Pulford Street, which is near north Railroad Avenue. They found three people who had been shot, Chief Martin McLendon said in a release. One person had a non-life-threatening injury to the wrist and refused treatment. Two people were injured after a shooting on West Park Avenue in Opelousas. Opelousas police were called at about 3 a.m. Friday to shots fired in the 1100 block of West Park Avenue. Officers found two people who had been shot, Chief Martin McLendon said in a release. One person had non-life-threatening injuries and another was shot in the chest. Both were taken to a Lafayette hospital for treatment, McLendon said. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Two Wounded in Opelousas Shooting Two people are in the hospital after an early morning shooting in Opelousas. Police Chief Martin McLendon says that shooting happened a few minutes before 3 a.m. on Park Avenue between Ina Claire and Mouton Streets. According to McLendon, officers found two victims when they arrived at the scene. One of the victims was shot in the chest. The other suffered what McLendon says is a non-life-threatening injury. Both were taken to the hospital. So far, police have not identified any suspects.
