From: 27 January 2021 Revaluation 2023 is now underway. During revaluation we collect rental information from businesses to adjust their rateable value. This is to ensure that business rates are accurate and reflect any changes in the property market. The Valuation Office Rating Contact (VORC) scheme is designed to reduce the workload for customers with larger property portfolios. It enables ratepayers with more than 20 properties in their portfolios to submit their rental details in bulk, cutting down the time and resources that you would otherwise spend providing information for all of your properties individually.

Mass timber Living Building planned for downtown Portland January 13 2021 PAE will be the anchor tenant in a mostly mass-timber office building that pushes the envelope for energy efficiency. The engineering firm PAE, which did the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering for Seattle s Bullitt Center, is forging ahead on its own Portland headquarters. Behind the Pine Street Market food hall and Kell s Irish pub in downtown Portland, the structure will be built to Living Building standard, the hardest benchmark to achieve in energy efficiency. It should be the first certified Living Building in Portland. The PAE Living Building is being constructed with cross-laminated timber panels and glulam columns.

Appraisal District office closed through Jan 15

Brett McKibben, Chief Appraiser of the Brown County Appraisal District, released the following statement Monday morning regarding their office being closed this week. Due to a positive Covid-19 test among the staff, the Brown County Appraisal District will be closed this week, Jan. 11-15 If you need to conduct business, personnel will be available to assist you by calling the appraisal office at 325-643-5676 or by emailing appraisal@brown-cad.org during normal business hours. As a reminder, many questions can be answered by visiting their website at www.brown-cad.org. They strongly encourage that payments be made by mail or via the website. If you feel you must make your payment at the office, a drop box is available. Payments will be processed during this closure.

PASCO, Wash. An abrupt twist occurred during the Franklin County Commissioner’s Board Meeting this morning. After a longstanding tenure with the office, Franklin Co. Assessor Peter McEnderfer resigned from his post. McEnderfer, who served Franklin Co. for 21 and a half years, worked his way up from Residential Appraiser to Chief Appraiser before being elected County Assessor in 2018. He succeeded Steve Marks, who retired shortly before McEnderfer ran for the position.
