The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has weighed in on the rift between Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State and his counterpart, Governor Bala Mohammed.
DAILY POST had reported that Gov Ortom had accused Mohammed of joining forces with killer herdsmen to eliminate people living in his State and some other parts of the country.
Governor Ortom, who said he was not ready to join issues with the Governor, was reacting to Mohammed’s comment defending Fulani herdsmen who use AK-47.
Mohammed had said Fulanis herdsmen carry AK-47 to defend themselves in the forests.
But reacting, Ortom urged Mohammed to revisit his oath of office because he had failed in keeping his oath of protecting the lives and properties of the people.

The immediate past governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola remarked that ‘murderers’ have joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) party, so the leadership and membership of the party should not allow such elements to occupy leadership positions of the party.
Aregbesola, the current Interior minister after his revalidation at the APC at Ifofin, Ward 8, Ilesa East Local Government of Osun State affirmed that members have a moral duty to ensure that such elements do not occupy leadership positions and use it to subvert and derail the party.

A former Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has raised concerns about the admission of new members into the ruling party, APC.
Aregbesola’s statement comes amidst concerns raised by some APC leaders about the defection of former deputy governor of Osun State, Iyiola Omisore, from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the APC.
Newsmen, last Monday, reported that Omisore did his official registration as a card-carrying member of the APC at his unit in Moore, Ile-Ife, with his supporters chanting “Oyetola for second term”.
Omisore contested for governor under the banner of SDP during the 2018 gubernatorial election and he came third in the poll.
