CALOOCAN CITY, May 12 (PIA) State-owned Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) is working closely with the Department of Finance (DoF), state regulators and multi-lateral lending institutions in establishing a Local Government Unit (LGU) credit rating system that seeks to mainstream bond flotations as a sustainable financing option for local development projects, a top official said.
DBP President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel G. Herbosa said the proposed rating system would provide the bond market with credible risk indicators of individual LGU bonds as well as information on outstanding bond issues which would help buoy confidence and improve risk-appetite of potential investors.

CALOOCAN CITY, May 1 (PIA) State-owned Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has granted a P195-million term loan to a San Juan City-based educational institution to partially finance the construction of a six-story building which would be the site of its permanent offices and school facilities, a top official said.
DBP President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel G. Herbosa said that the bank s assistance to the Community of Learners Foundation, Inc. (COLF) was made under the bank s flagship Education Sector Support for Knowledge, Wisdom and Empowerment through Lending Assistance program, or DBP ESKWELA.
Present during the loan signing were DBP Account Officer Stephanie S. Mariano, DBP Senior Assistant Vice President Raymond C.
