He noted that some states have already begun the process of ending open grazing in their states.
He said: “Kaduna has a ranch with DANO milk as a pilot; Plateau has sent a Bill on Ranching to the State Assembly, Zamfara, Kano, Taraba, Niger and Nasarawa have started ranching constitutions while Benue has had an anti-grazing law for some years.”
He stated that the Northern governors have been at the forefront of pushing for solutions to open grazing, adding that: “Contrary to some mischiefs and insinuation arising from the resolutions by the Southern Governors that the Northern Governors have done nothing about the issue of open grazing, we were actually the first to take a collective decision that the practice of open grazing is no longer sustainable.”
Participants from Niger, Kwara and Kogi States as well as the Federal Capital (FCT) Abuja, have converged on the Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Hall for the Minna centre of the North Central Zone public hearing on Constitutional review.
The two day event aimed at outlining and articulating the position of the zone on some burning issues as regards the unity of the nation, was attended by critical stakeholders and all the Senators representing the participating States and the FCT
Declaring the event opened, Niger State Governor and Chairman North Central Governors forum, Abubakar Sani Bello expressed that Constitutional review, if well articulated, would guarantee better and inclusive economic growth as well as increase political stability and enhance peaceful coexistence.

BARCLYAVILLE, Grand Kru County – Madam Doris Nyanplane Ylatun, Superintendent of Grand Kru County, located in Southeastern Liberia, has alluded to journalistically unethical information dissemination by (many) members of the Liberian press community.
“Negative reporting, in any form, drives away investment, and hampers the growth and development of any nation,” Madam Ylatun said during her speech at the in-door segment of the celebration of the World Press Freedom Day, held in her County’s capital, Barclayville. The indoor program was on May 3 day three of the three-day event.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has commended the management of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the intervention projects at the Finance and Logistics College, Naval Base Owerrinta, Abia State which were commissioned on Tuesday.
He made the commendations in his goodwill message at the commissioning ceremony of the various intervention projects in the College which comprised: a 300- sitting capacity Academic Complex Auditorium, E-Library, ICT office and 12 Classrooms of 40 Students capacity each.
Other projects commissioned include Administrative block made up of the Commandant and Deputy Commandant Offices and other 17 additional office spaces for the Principal Officers of the College, male and female hostels, students dining hall, swimming pool and gymnasium.
